What other forms of social support/welfare should I know about? (Buddy systems, etc.) Who is eligible? How does someone apply?

Ukrainians who have received temporary protection status in Croatia can receive one-time financial assistance. Payments are provided for one person or family in the amount of 330 to 460 euros. The funds are intended to cover extraordinary expenses arising in connection with current life circumstances.

You can submit a request for a one-time financial assistance to a social worker on duty at Shelter Centers and Collective Accommodation facilities. If you are in individual private housing, you can apply to the Social Protection Center and its branchesx in Croatia (addresses available here ).

What other help can Ukrainians in Croatia receive?

Are there any social benefits I can claim such as child support?

There are no special child benefits for migrants. You can only receive general one-time financial assistance per family in the amount of 330 to 460 euros.

Are there any social benefits for pregnant and nursing women?

At this moment, no benefits for pregnant and nursing women under temporary protection are being offered.

However, as a person under temporary protection, by presenting the Temporary Protection Card, you have the right to treatment at offices of, among others, doctors of family medicine, pediatrics and gynecologists.

Are there specific social supports available to me if I am elderly?

There are no special benefits for elderly migrants. You can only receive general one-time financial assistance per family in the amount of 330 to 460 euros.

Are there specific social supports available to me if I have a disability?

At this moment, Croatia does not offer disability benefits in the form of monetary compensation.

However, if a person with disability has been placed in an accommodation that does not fit their needs, such person can request to be placed in one of the special social care institutions. Request can be filed to a social worker in reception center or collective housing. In case you are placed in a private accommodation, you can file the request before Social Welfare Centre (Cro. Centar za socijalnu skrb) nearest to the place of your accommodation.

Furthermore, if a person is placed in a social welfare institution, transport is also provided.

Croatian associations of persons with disabilities do not require Ukrainian citizens to be members of the association in order to provide assistance to persons with disabilities.

They are ready to provide all necessary assistance and support in exercising the rights of persons with disabilities.

It is possible to provide a personal assistant in cooperation with associations.

How can Ukrainians apply for a Ukrainian pension abroad?

According to the Ministry of Reintegration, Ukrainians who were forced to go abroad due to the war can now send an application for the appointment or renewal of a pension by mail.

An application for the appointment (renewal) of a pension can be sent to any territorial body of the Pension Fund of Ukraine, regardless of the person's place of registration.
