Can I enter the country without a visa?

Citizens of many countries including Russia can enter Georgia without a visa.

Can I get refugee status in the country?

Yes, the refugee status is not tighed to a certain citizenship.

If you are in need of international protection, you can address a border guard (if applying for asylum at the state border) or any state agency in Georgia (if applying for asylum within Georgia).

  • status of a person under temporary protection;

  • humanitarian status.

How long can I stay in the country?

It depends on your nationality. For example, Russian citizens can currently stay in Georgia for a year without having to obtain a residence permit. After the one-year-period expires, you can reset it by leaving the country for a day or less.
