Where can I go to find emergency/short-term housing?

Individuals who do not have a place to stay in Belgium (with friends or family), can apply for housing at the registration center. The registration is organised by the Immigration Office in Palais 8, Brussels Expo at Heizel (Rue du Verregat, 1020 Brussels).

After registration, they are accompanied by Fedasil (the Federal Agency for the reception of asylum seekers) to the local crisis accommodation sites organized by municipalities.

Emergency accommodation is provided for displaced people from Ukraine who cannot register immediately. If necessary, for example for Ukrainians who are stranded without accommodation at the end of the day, Fedasil can provide emergency accommodation for 1 or 2 nights. People who can be registered immediately on the day of their arrival skip the emergency accommodation stage and are immediately accompanied to a local crisis accommodation site.

Wallonia created a platform intended to put in contact citizens wishing to offer accommodation with displaced people from Ukraine looking for an accommodation solution.

You can also contact The NGO Plateforme Citoyenne which will match you with local hosts who registered to welcome you for a temporary stay: Support.ukraine@bxlrefugees.be

Pets cannot stay in the emergency accommodation and the accommodations in the Belgian municipalities. Ukrainians who come to Belgium with a pet, have to find a solution for the shelter of their pet themselves (through their network, friends).
