You can find housing for long-term rent on the website mceclip0.png. Housing prices depend on the size of the city and the location of housing: in big cities such as Barcelona and Madrid are more expensive, in Valencia prices are moderate. Smaller cities like Tarragona or Alicante are much cheaper.

If I am staying with friends and family in the long term, what documents do I need to fill out to make it official? How can I obtain proof of residency?

The proof of residence (padrรณn) in Spain is provided by the municipal register. In order to register, it is necessary to submit a form and a photocopy of the rental contract or a signed authorisation of the owner of the property where you are staying along with your ID / passport.
