Can I enter the country without a visa?

 If a third country national residing in Ukraine holds a passport, they can cross into Romania through the common border points and obtain a transit visa on arrival. They do not need to go a consulate office first. Currently, TCN arrivals are only being accepted from Ukraine for transit purposes only. They must have a valid travel document and upon arrival at the border point they will get a Romanian transit visa for up to 90 days. More information at romania.iom.int mceclip0.png.

Can I get refugee status in the country?

Yes, you can apply for asylum and if your request is approved you can either obtain the refugee status, or be granted subsidiary protection. Both are forms of international protection that allow you to stay and work in Romania. More information at romania.iom.int mceclip0.png.
