People who apply for asylum or temporary refuge are accommodated in the facilities of the Migration Office. Also, Slovakia offers the opportunity to stay in state facilities. You can find the current list of state-provided, hotel and private accommodation options at Pomocpreukrajinu.sk .

State housing reimbursement program

Rent for housing for persons who received temporary asylum is paid to the landlord by the state. Free accommodation is possible only on the basis of the Agreement on the provision of housing to refugees (Zmluvy o przysztání odídencovi). The contract must contain Slovak and Ukrainian texts. The contract must also list all persons with whom you will live, the number of living rooms available to you.

You must report your free accommodation to the municipality and once a month personally confirm the number of nights and persons to whom accommodation has been provided. If you want to end free accommodation, you must notify the landlord at least 2 days in writing. More information here .

EU4UA is a platform for finding housing in Europe together with other Ukrainians

A new roommate search function has been launched on the EU4UA platform.

Renting housing with other people will allow:

• save money by sharing housing costs with other people;
• have a greater choice of housing;
• to find friends, expand the network of social contacts and feel supported in a new country.

No additional documents are required. If you change your address you should report it to the municipality office of your district. Local government addresses can be found here .

You must provide the municipality with proof that you have been granted temporary refuge (the document marked DOČASNÉ ÚTOČISKO or ODÍDENEC and a new proof of accommodation (e.g. an affidavit from the owner, called in Slovakia Čestné yzágenie, form is available here ). The municipality will either record the change of address in the information system and issue you with a new residence document or record the change of address in the document you submit.
